MINIMALIST GIFT WRAPPING

I am late with my gift getting, as usual! To be honest, I am late with everything holiday related. I have boiled it down to this pregnancy being a bit harder than my first one. I am currently getting treatment for a pelvic region living its own life, it is all over the place. On top of that, the lack of sleep, all I do is twist and turn. So at the end of the day I am left with next to no energy, all is spent getting my pregnancy affairs together when the little one is in day care. When he comes home, all my time is devoted to him from the moment I pick him up till he falls asleep. The few hours I have left in a day is then spent planning the next couple of days, cleaning up the days mess and trying to find a comfortable position to rest in. Not much time left for holiday hunting! But, everything is getting closer, so I need to get my stuff together ASAP. So this weekend I am doing this years Christmas card, and next week is devoted to getting and wrapping all of the gifts before we leave for the holidays on Friday.

Getting gifts for everyone is one of my favorite things about Christmas, that and the wrapping of the gifts. Right now I am looking for some good wrapping ideas. Here is a collection of some great minimalistic wrapping ideas I´ve come across hauling through the isles of Pinterest. I especially love the use of fresh greens in the wrapping, it´s all about the details!

ADVENT CALENDAR RANT

For the first time I feel the obligation to create an advent calendar for The Bean! Last year his advent calendar was unlimited snuggles every day, this year, I want to add some more excitement t0 it. Feeling the mom pressure building over here. So I have hunted high and low for some inspiration, to get my creative juices flowing, pre-creating.

Now I just have to figure out what I can do with my limited DIY skill set, and what to put in the little parcels.

SUNDAY SHARING

We are back from Copenhagen, and I am already feeling the withdrawal. Hope it wont be too long till we return. I´ll come back with photos and all the details at a later time. For now, we are just trying to get back to normal over here, 4 days of constant walking has taken its toll on the pregnant one… And 4 days of fun has taken its toll on The Bean and his daily rhythm. So while we are recuperating from our family trip, here is a Sunday Share to keep you going, enjoy!

LAST MINUTE: WRAP IT UP

I am always on the look out for some nice gift wrapping ideas, even though I am not always great at following through on those ideas. I still have a few small gifts to wrap up before the big day tomorrow, so here is a last minute wrap inspiration rant. Good to keep around for future birthdays and other events where handing off a gift is happening.

Happy Christmas!

HELLO HOLIDAYS

December is here, and for the first time I am feeling the true urge to throw some holiday decorations around the place. I am blaming the Bean for this urge, it’s his first Christmas and I feel like I want to fill it with some sort of holiday greatness. We’ve also decided to host a small New Years dinner, which is another first for me and the H, so suddenly the holidays has This far all I’ve managed to bring into our home is a tree, throw some decorations on it and call it quits… This is what that project ended up looking like:

The Bean was pleased with the result and celebrated by throwing the decorations around the living room. Still I feel like I am in need of some holiday inspiration, so I turned to my favorite source of inspiration, the visual kind.
