One of the things I have to get sorted when the new year hits is a decent workspace at home. I do spend a lot of time editing photos in the evenings, and in January I am starting an online course in Public Law. I have never tried the online study thing, but I have decided to add some sprinkles to my resume while I am having my maternity leave this time around. The course I am doing only runs for one semester, so hopefully I will find the time to do my studying when the Bean is in daycare. I´ve been spending some time hunting the internet for some ideas for my future workspace, and I have narrowed it down to a list of top five office trends/goods I want to try to incorporate into my own space.
THE PEG BOARD
THE FRESH GREENS
THE WIRE MESH
THE WHITE DESK
THE LEATHER CHAIR

I came across this amazing space on one of my inspiration hunts, and it is giving me heaps of moving craves. There is so much inspiration one can pull out of this home, I don´t even know where to start! I love the bright feeling in the living room, with the white walls and light wooden floors. The choice to use a lot of natural textures like linen and wood, combined with a lot of fresh green.
The home seems like the perfect combination of crisp cosy home and a box of curiosities. The living room and bedroom seems is filled with light and eccentric decorations, whilst the bathroom seems like something taken out of a Moroccan hotel… Then there is the kitchen, fresh and up-lifting. Such a fun space!

Time for another style file, and today I’ll share some white on white inspiration with you. I always find my self drawn to images of white on white, this counts both in the fashion department and in the interior department. I do not see my self pulling of many white on white looks in the near future, with the arrival of the baby bean and all – but one can dream, no?
The season rapidly changing to a warmer and sunnier time also draws me more to the idea of wandering about in white summer dresses… Still a couple of months away, but I am ready for it!
And to finish it all of, this amazing white out, here are some white pieces I would love to add to my wardrobe this season…
1. A white crop shirt from & other stories 2. Thierry Colson maxi dress from Matches 3. White poplin blouse from Weekday 4. A pair of white Lacoste trainers from ASOS 5. Top with folded sides from COS 6. Alaïa bag from net-a-porter 7. White leather jacket from Selected 8. White dress from Free People 9. The laden showroom skirt from ASOS
In just a weeks time we get the keys to our new home, and just tree days after that I have to travel back to work… So right now we are sitting in different countries trying to tie things together before the grabbing of keys… We have decided to stay in the apartment we are in right now till we’ve managed to put some paint on the walls, at least in the bedroom… So what we are trying to tie together is what colors to bring into our home. As most of you may have noticed, I do like my monochromatic base – and I am of course sticking to that for most of this – but I do have a love for a bit of shading here and there, maybe even some color as well. This far we’ve decided to keep our base on shades of grey (cold, no beige). We also want to pull some blue into it – but how to do it? Who knows, we’ve found some deep and dark blue hues we like, good thing is that neither of us is so-called bright colors on the wall fans. I can always toss some brightness into the mix, but in more changeable options – like a pillow or a side table (I do actually own a couple of pink and even some neon yellow items)… I have three main rooms I want to step aside from the grey base (this grey base does also contain white) – that’s the bedroom (one wall), dining room (one wall) and kitchen (either wall or the old kitchen in there)… We are not changing the kitchen straight away, saving up for that one, but the old kitchen does come with its own charm, only need to paint some fugly tiles…
I’ve gathered some inspiration these last couple of days, trying to draw a bit on the white, grey and blue tones… Still, I feel a bit lost! It’s been so long since I last set foot in that place – so I might step over the threshold of the home and go “This won’t work”… I have always had issues picking between two options, so how will I do with hundreds of colors to pick from? The H cracks up these days, over and over I go like this “We can do blue, but not too blue, we can go grey but not the beige grey, and not too grey!” What a pleasure I must be to share this process with! Inspiration time!

I am still at the point where I have a crush on neon… I wish I could bring tons of crazy neon into my home – but my greatest question is; what to combine my neon with? So I have gathered a combination of solutions to my problem – after finding the solutions I have gone on quite the visual aid hunt… And here is what I have gathered – and what I have concluded with!
Pastel + Neon
I am familiar with the trend – to combine your neon with subtle and sweet pastels… I am having some difficulties with this one – since I feel pastels can tend to fall on the way to sweet side – and I am no sweet tooth – nor one to throw too much sweet into my space. I can agree with cute but candy floss sweet has got me on the fence. But I try to focus on solutions instead of problems – so my way to work around it is to see if I can find visual aid that will make me fall in love with the trend – instead of running away from it. Here goes nothing.
After going through my visual aid on this – I realize that I can slowly dismount my fence… It could work – but it needs a lot of thinking through though… It could go borderline kids room in a second. From a fashion aspect it seems to be pretty kick ass – I am in love with the editorial at the top – and the combination between the neon clutch and the mint jumper does seem doable from a mortal point of view.
Beige + Neon
Now I am turning over to the more neutral or more basic combinations… First of all – let us combine the classic beige with the crazy neon – this is one of the combinations I felt most optimistic about from the beginning. Let’s see if my optimism gets validated! The only thing that could go wrong in my eyes – is the fact that when it comes to beige I can find it quite the boring colour to work with!
Optimism – validated – to some extent! I feel like it is all about the tiny details when it comes to this combination… I love the shoes, especially combined with the outfit in the first photo… But I feel like the detail thing stands out when it comes to the interior as well… It doesn’t have to be a huge amount of crazy – that would kill the beige – but the smallest detail could make a world of difference – or so it seems to me. . . Still feel beige could be a snooze fest – yes it is classic – but it does need a punch line! And it seems that a pop of neon might just be the thing to resuscitate it!
Crispy White + Neon
Now I am going to turn my face towards my old favorite – white combined with a punch of neon. . . It is no secret that I find white to be the perfect backdrop for anything – and for some reason I feel like that is never going to change.
My point of view on this combination differs a bit from my view on the combination of neon and beige. . . When it came down to the beige I prefered the combination in a fashion aspect – when it comes down to the white I prefer it combined with neon in an interior aspect. I am way more fond of the combination when it come to my space than when it comes to my wardrobe. When it comes to the white and neon ratio I’m still on the same page as earlier – mostly white – the neon needs to be in the details.
Black + Neon
Over to another basic colour – the black! I love black – I love black on black – I love black on almost anything… But the question is; do I love black on neon/neon on black? I am not feeling optimistic when it comes to this one!
This is the combination I am struggling the most with – it simply doesn’t appeal to me on any level… I could live with those sunglasses, the neon pink with the black branch and maybe the invitation – but still – it wouldn’t be my first choice. But maybe this is the old lady in me speaking – it just seems like more of a rave thing than a me thing!
Grey + Neon
Then to finish it all – one of my all time favorites – grey! I am a big fan of all different shades of grey – but am I a fan of grey combined with a bit of neon?
I think I am on to a favorite – both in the fashion and the interior department. Maybe it is the fact that it tickles the scandi in me – or it could be the basic fact that it is a pretty shamazing combination…
Well – my verdict is that most of these neon combinations are doable – just make the details shine (neon)!
Now that we have reached the end of this – I really need to ask you – what is your favorite combination?
Hello there! It has been a couple of days since my last post – not my plan to be honest – but my laptop decided to show its bad side and be a right twat. It just gave up on life – and it showed that the laptop I got four years ago had a “born-with-it-default” that decided to make its grand entrance after the warranty ran out… So today I had to get on my knees and crawl to the closest electronics shop and purchase a brand new baby – lucky for me I ended up with a kick ass laptop for 200 quid less than it should cost – because one of the people working there took it out of the box without knowing they had already put another one out for display… So the good thing is I now have a laptop that will keep me happy for a pretty long time – so I am back to posting!
So in honour of my new baby – I have decided to do a “back to black” post – which is kinda back to my roots (the roots of my love for the monochromatic – the black and white – the simple things). Enjoy!
